Ruth Crawford Seeger (1901–1953) was a trailblazing ultramodern composer, a beloved piano teacher, and a curator of American folk songs. She was also a pioneer in early childhood music.

This poster was carefully designed to be eye-catching and informative, and it includes Ruth Crawford Seeger’s name, dates, picture, and a few of her key accomplishments.

Description

Most of us grew up seeing posters of Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven on the walls of our music classrooms. Those composers deserve their place, but the truth is that there were hundreds of women composing all throughout history whose music was performed, published, and celebrated in their day, and then largely forgotten. When students only see men on the walls, they get the message that composing is something men do.

With 5 print sizes to choose from, you can print it small for a bulletin board or large for a statement wall.
